How we handle your information
The short version
- We collect what you type into our form, plus the standard information your browser sends when you visit.
- We use it to reply to you, to decide which broker-dealer we connect next, and to see which of our ads work.
- Advertising platforms receive a hashed copy of your email and the account-volume band you pick. They never receive your firm, your custodian or your notes.
- We don’t sell your information.
- You can ask us to see or delete what we hold, at any time.
Who we are
This site is run by Signed & Filed (signedfiled.com) — “we” and “us” on this page. It is intended for visitors in the United States. Write to [email protected] about anything here.
This notice covers this website and its enquiry form. It doesn’t cover the service we provide to clients, which handles client account information under a separate written agreement.
What we collect
When you fill in the form
Your broker-dealer, your custodian or recordkeeper, roughly how many new accounts you open a month, which forms you find hardest if you choose to tell us, and your email address.
Please don’t put client information in the form. We don’t need it and we don’t want it.
Automatically, when you visit
- Your IP address, and the country it points to
- Your browser and device type
- The page that sent you here, and any campaign tags in the link you followed, such as
utm_sourceor an ad-click ID from Meta or Google - Cookies and similar identifiers set by the analytics and advertising tools listed below
What we use it for
- Replying to you, and working out whether we can help.
- Deciding what to build next. We look at which broker-dealers and custodians enquirers use, in aggregate.
- Measuring our advertising — which ads bring enquiries, so we stop paying for the ones that don’t.
- Keeping the site secure and working, and meeting our legal obligations.

Only Airtable receives your firm, your custodian and your notes. Hashing turns your email into a code: the platform can match it against an account it already holds, so it may recognise you if you have one, but we never send it the address itself.

This site doesn’t set cookies of its own. The tools above set these on our domain:

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted — unless you become a client, when your client agreement applies instead.
- Analytics and advertising data: held by Google, Meta and LinkedIn under their own retention settings.
Your choices and rights
Email [email protected] to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We reply within 30 days.
We don’t sell your personal information for money. Some US state privacy laws treat sharing data with advertising platforms, as described above, as “selling” or “sharing” it for targeted advertising. You can limit that with these controls:
- Meta: ad preferences
- Google: My Ad Center, and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on
- LinkedIn: advertising settings
- Many companies at once: aboutads.info and networkadvertising.org
Security
The form is sent over an encrypted connection. Enquiries are kept in an access-restricted database. The keys that connect our systems are stored encrypted, never in our code. Your email is hashed before it goes to Meta.
Children
This site is for financial professionals. It isn’t meant for anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
